How many Yankee Fans know Joe Torre is coming Through that Door?

Posted on November 16th, 2009 by admin

I am just saying .

So deal with and Girardi is still the Manager until… who knows but deal with and support your Yankees.

I’m surprised they’re aren’t any Willie Randolph rumors yet!

Does anyone really think that Tony LaRussa would do a better job with the Yankees than Joe Torre?

Posted on November 13th, 2009 by admin

I’ve heard some people suggest that the Yanks will fire Torre and grab LaRussa before he gets a chance to resign with St Louis.

LaRussa has gotten 11 teams into the playoffs but has only won 2 World Series. His A’s teams lost two world series in which they were heavy favorites. Is this a better playoff track record than Joe Torre (4WS championships in 12 playoff appearances)
Kimba, I agree with you about Mattingly.

While I don’t want to see Torre leave the Yankees, I would hope that they’d go after Joe Girardi instead of LaRussa. Get some fresh blood into the system!

Notice that all three names are italian? Does that count for anything in baseball’s minority hiring? LOL Ciao!

Terry Francona Vs Joe Torre, Who do you think is the better coach to have?

Posted on November 10th, 2009 by admin

I am yankees fan, I am not going to biased or anything. I would have to say Joe Torre.

Francona is an amazing coach too, however I think Torre is the better one

Torre, will always be a better manager than Francona.

Why were the New York Yankees so disrespectful to Joe Torre?

Posted on November 7th, 2009 by admin

What’s up with that?
Forget about the money for a minute folks you are all missing the point. it’s amatter of how they strung him out. First they tell him that if he doesn’t win his series against Cleveland that he will be fired. then they don’t fire him afterwards but say they will think about bringing him back and then they lowballed him to top it all off.

I think it goes down to the fact that the pinstripers and that is Steinbrenner and sons think they are supposed to win it all every year which is to me disrespectful of the entire league that they have competent baseball players as well as they do. I do not know if you remember but I said the Yankees Achilles Heel would be their starting pitcher due to age and lack of depth. Joe Torre managed 4of 5 world champion teams which in this day and age due to free adency and parity for the sake of competition and to help the lower level paying teams makes this nearly impossible. I think it is almost torture to do this to a man who has done so much for this historic franchise. Get it over with and you know they are going to release him from the Yankees . The sons will probably want somebody new and a lot of players like Rivera want torre back that by making him an offer it may look like Torre is turning them down instead of the Yankee management letting them down by getting rid of Torre. Whatever the case may be the Yankees have sunk to a low here and not the classy franchise they have been.

What do you think the reaction of Yankees fan would have been if Joe Torre was there as a Dodger?

Posted on November 4th, 2009 by admin

would he get booed or he would gotten a praise?

I remember 2007 Post Season, against Indians. When Joe came in to put Rivera in, the whole Stadium charted chanting "Joe Torre"

Joe Torre gets nothing but respect in NY. No boos

Is Joe Torre to blame for the Dodgers pitching problems?

Posted on October 28th, 2009 by admin

All year he never let any pitcher get beyond the 6th inning. They could never develop arm strengt now they are all falling apart. The bullpen has been overworked. He is throwing starters in the bullpen. It’s leke watching Grady Little all over again.

Joe Torre was a catcher not a pitcher. MVP. And has a few World Series rings as a manager. Maybe you need to send your video to the Dodgers. They may give you his job. They are leading the West aren’t they. Be happy.

is Hank Steinbrenner only ripping the Dodger because Joe Torre is the manager?

Posted on October 26th, 2009 by admin

the guy has only been to 3 yankee games this year, did not even mention Joe Torre in the final game at Yankee stadium and spends more time ripping the MLB and The Dodgers than trying to fix his overpaid team so what the hell is this guys problem?

Because he overpaid his players and was stupid by not making the Johan Santana trade. In the offseason, he is going to overpay some more hitters, and they are going to have the worst staff again. He thinks he can just buy everyone and win now but will learn again next year that money doesnt buy championships anymore. The Dodgers have good young talent and I dont think the Yankees could compete in the weak but VERY strong pitching division that it the NL West. Just look at Jake Peavy and Lincecum and the ERA on their teams. They may be in last place, but you wont get an easy win everytime you play them like you would Baltimore. Joe Torre is living it up in LA while they are going home.

If you’re on the Dodgers can you feel comfortable now talking to or around Joe Torre?

Posted on October 20th, 2009 by admin

As a Yankees fan I really hope all this turns out not to be as big of a deal every-body’s making it out to be but if it’s really that bad, filled with personal secrets and what people say, how can anyone in that clubhouse trust him? Does this cause a rift? Can nobody vent in the locker room without fear of reading about it in 7 years?

Joe Torre broke one of baseball’s unwritten rules. He should not have publicized his altercations over time with the yankee organization. It tarnishes his character with baseball personal and more importantly his players.

If Joe Torre is such a great manager than how come the dodgers suck?

Posted on October 18th, 2009 by admin

maybe it was the payroll and the players torre had with the yankees that made all those succesful seasons. maybe torre’s just a terrible manager like he was with every other team except the yankees. opinions?
good call i am a mets fan
im just looking for someone to say torre isn’t a great manager

YES!

Look at Torre’s managerial record before he went to the Yanks. 15 seasons of below averageness. He was a very average manager before someone gave him a team of all stars. He had a great team that anyone could have won 4 World Series with and a better manager might have won more.

Now that he’s with a crappy team again, suddenly his "great manager" skills aren’t so evident. I am of the belief that he shouldn’t be in the Hall of Fame unless he can show he can win with a team that isn’t the Yankees, but it will never happen because he never will; yet he’ll still get the hall becuase he was in the right place at the right time.

What did Joe Girardi do before replacing Joe Torre in the role of manager for the NYY?

Posted on October 18th, 2009 by admin

How tall is the foul ball poles on the left field and right field side of the park, and what do you score/call it when a baseball flies over and past one?

Prior to being the Yanks skipper Girardi played ball from 1989 to 2003 playing for the Cubs, Rockies, Yanks, Cubs again and Cardinals. He had a short stint in broadcasting before becoming the Yanks bench coach. Then it was off to Florida to manage the 2006 season. He was hired in Oct 2007 by the Yanks to begin managing them in 2008.

Foul poles vary in height in each stadium. Prior to 1920-something foul lines were infinite. But since then they end at the outfield fence. So anything hit from the foul pole inward is fair. (foul pole included. So why aren’t they called fair poles???) But since the fence is now the end if a ball is "wrapped around a pole", over the fence on the fair side but lands in the stands on the foul side, it is a fair ball and thus a home run.
